Opening party was inspired on the colors and flavors of Brazil
Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, a noble section of Rio’s south side, served as scenario for the CPhI and P-MEC South America opening ceremony. With the “Colors and Flavors of Brazil” theme, the event was held in the evening of August 19 at the Pequena Cruzada Event Center.
More than 200 guests including suppliers and global pharmaceutical industry representatives enjoyed the texture, flavors, colors and aromas of Brazilian cuisine to the sound of the best Bossa Nova and MPB.
Bahianas in typical dress walked about the rooms delighting the guests with their trays of
acarajés shrimp bobo. A tent was set up where the more skeptic could have their fortunes read and experience a little of Brazil’s mystical side.
The apex of the party occurred when the guests were surprised by the sound of drums and
tambourines. A Carnaval group comprised of 12 members – including samba dancers and
musicians - invaded the party with style and good taste, bringing a little Carnaval joy.
As a final touch, the hosts presented the guests with a small bottle of colored sands creating the Sugar Loaf alongside the CPhI and P-MEC South America logos.
Over coming months, this gift on office desks spread about dozens of countries will surely
activate the memory of the participants of this colorful and joy-filled evening in Rio de Janeiro.
